The Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, has initiated the online application process for the Odisha Teachers Eligibility Test (OTET) 2024. Eligible candidates can submit their applications for the exam by July 5 (midnight) through the official website, bseodisha.ac.in. Following the registration deadline, details regarding the admit card download and exam date will be notified by the Odisha Board.

OTET 2024: Eligibility Criteria

Category A: A candidate needs to have a Two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (CT or D.El.Ed.) and Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent of the total aggregate marks. The students are required to have a minimum of 50 per cent in Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) and a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) programme.

Category B: Applicants need to have a bachelor’s degree in education (B.Ed.) after one year or a two-year diploma in elementary education (under whatever name it may be recognised) after graduation with at least 50 per cent of the required credits.

OTET 2024: Steps to Apply

Step 1. Visit bseodisha.ac.in, the official website.

Step 2. From the latest update section click on “Online Form For Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test OTET – 2024.”

Step 3. On the new page, select the Paper 1/Paper 2/Both Papers application link for the OTET 2024.

Step 4. To begin the application process, log into your account or register yourself if you are a new user.

Step 5. Enter the required credentials carefully and pay the necessary charges.

Step 6. After completing the application process, take a printout of the form for future use.

The OTET 2024 exam will comprise two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2, each lasting 2.5 hours. Both papers will consist entirely of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Each question will carry one mark, and there will be no negative marking.

Candidates are only eligible to apply for the OTET who will meet the necessary academic and training requirements with the required percentage of marks. Apart from this, candidates who are enrolled in the last year of teacher training programmes before the announcement of the OTET’s date and who want to teach classes 1 to 8 in state-run schools, private aided schools, and private unaided schools in the state of Odisha can also take the exam.
