NEET UG 2024 Results: Minimum Cut-off Rises To 164, NTA Confirms
According to the results, the cut-off of this exam is 720–164 this year, which is higher than the cut-off from last year, exactly 720–137.

The NEET-UG exam 2024 was conducted on May 5. Students have to pass the NEET UG exam to get admission to the MBBS and BDS courses in medical colleges in the country. Candidates who want to be admitted to the top government medical colleges are required to score high in the NEET UG exams. This year, the registration process for the NEET UG exam was between February 9 and April 10. The exam was conducted on May 5.

The NTA has released the NEET US 2024 results. According to the results, the cut-off of this exam is 720–164 this year, which is higher than the cut-off from last year, exactly 720–137. A total of 67 students have achieved the All India 1 rank. More and more students are applying every year for the NEET UG exams. This year, 24 lakh students registered for the exam. However, understanding the seat matrix is crucial to finding seats in the top government MBBS and BDS colleges.

The NTA has announced that those who reported losing time during the National Eligibility-Entrance Test as undergraduates have been given marks. The NTA states, “NTA received few representations and court cases from the candidates of NEET (UG) 2024, raising concerns of loss of time during the conduct of the examination on May 5, 2024. Such cases and representations were considered by the NTA and the normalisation formula, which has been devised and adopted by the Hon’ble Apex Court, vide its Judgment dated June 13, 2018, was implemented to address the loss of time faced by the candidates of NEET (UG) 2024.”

There are a total of 751 MBBS colleges in India. Lakhs of students are trying to get admission into these limited seats. However, the cutoff marks are the deciding factors in whether a candidate will get admission to any government-affiliated college or a private college.

There are 35,540 seats in 260 private medical colleges in India. On the other hand, there are 272 government medical colleges. These colleges offer 41,388 seats to MBBS candidates. However, the total seats through NEET are 76,928 in 532 colleges. The JIPMER on the other side offers 200 seats in 2 colleges, and AIIMS offers 1205 seats in 15 colleges. In total, India has 78,333 students in 549 colleges.

Apart from the MBBS colleges, there are many BDS colleges in India. 263 private colleges are offering 23,260 seats. Government medical colleges in India offer a total of 3513 seats in 50 colleges across the nation.
