The UPSC results were recently declared. Of the many candidates that were selected, 31 candidates prepared for the UPSC from the Free Residential Coaching Academy of Jamia Millia Islamia have been selected for IAS-IPS this year. Like Jamia, free coaching of UPSC is being run in central universities of the country like Banaras Hindu University and Allahabad University. In which free coaching of UPSC is provided for admission.
Apart from Jamia, free coaching of UPSC in other central universities of the country is an initiative of the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation and the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. This was started in 2022. Under this, coaching for the UPSC and State Civil Services Examinations is provided to SC and OBC category candidates.
Eligibility
Under the Dr. Ambedkar Center of Excellence Scheme in Central Universities, free coaching for UPSC is provided to the youth of the SC and OBC categories. Youth from minority communities falling into the OBC category can also avail themselves of this scheme. For this, the age should be between 21 and 37 years.
Selection Process
Candidates are selected for the free coaching scheme of the UPSC through an entrance examination. Each university organizes it separately. The questions asked in the entrance exam are equivalent to those in the UPSC Prelims.

According to reports, the Dr Ambedkar Centers of Excellence Scheme of Free Coaching Scheme for SC Students was launched on April 22, 2022, by the Dr Ambedkar Foundation, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India, New Delhi. Under this scheme, the Dr. Ambedkar Centre of Excellence (DACE) was established in the Academic Complex, FCI Campus, University of Allahabad.
This initiative was recently amended by the Dr Ambedkar Foundation, Department of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, New Delhi, and is now known as the Free Coaching initiative for SC and OBC Students.
The scheme’s goal is to provide high-quality coaching to economically disadvantaged Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) candidates so that they can compete for jobs in the public and private sectors.
