The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) is a group of central government schools in India falling under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It is known across the country for its academic excellence in primary and secondary schooling. Presently, the KVS has been undertaking the online registration process for admission since April 1.

Interested parents or guardians have been advised to submit the application form on behalf of their children on the official website at kvsangathan.nic.in.

However, securing a seat in these schools is not an easy task, even a minor error in the entrance exam form can lead to the cancellation of admission. Ahead of the closing of the application window on April 15, let us take a close look at the crucial criteria such as the age limit to apply for a certain class in the KVS.

As per the official website of KVS, the parents and guardians of the student intending to enrol in the school need to be careful about the mentioned age limit. To enroll in class 1, the minimum age is 6 years while the maximum age limit is 8 years.

To enrol in class 2, the students must be aged between 7 to 9 years, while for class 3, the student should be between 8 to 10 years of age. The age limit for class 4 is 8 to 10 years, while for class 5 it is between 9 to 11 years.

For getting admission to class 6 and class 7 the age limit is 10 to 12 and 11 to 13 years, respectively. To get enrolled in classes between 8, 9, or 10, the students are required to be aged between 12 to 16 years.

As per the reports, the age of the candidate for KVS will be calculated as of March 31, 2024.

Apart from the age requirements, the parents are suggested to keep relevant documents while filling out the application form. It includes the candidates’ original birth certificate, SC/ST/OBC certificate (if needed), residential certificate, service certificate of the parents, and two photographs.
