IIT JAM Tie-Breaking Criteria

If two students achieve the same marks in the JAM exam, IIT Madras will adhere to the following tie-breaking criteria:

–– Candidates with a lower positive-to-negative marks ratio will be ranked higher.

–– If the tie remains unresolved, the candidate with more marks in numerical aptitude-type questions will be given the higher rank.

–– Next, candidates with better scores in the multiple select questions (MSQs) sections will be ranked higher by the examination authority.

–– If a tie persists even after all the considerations, the older student will be given the better rank.

IIT Madras conducted the JAM entrance exam on February 11, with the results being declared on March 22. Alongside the results, IIT JAM final answer keys were also released on the website.
