Haryana Schools to Remain Closed For 10 Days in August, Check Schedule
According to the notification, apart from two Sundays -- July 21 and 28, there will be a holiday on Udham Singh Martyrdom Day which is on July 31

The Haryana board has released the list of holidays for August. Students will get a total of 10 days holiday including Saturdays and Sundays. The govt has also released the list of holidays for the last week of July, reported Punjab Kesari. According to the notification, apart from two Sundays — July 21 and 28, there will be a holiday on Udham Singh Martyrdom Day which is on July 31. Check out the list of school holidays in August in the state:

August 4: Sunday

August 7: Hariyali Teej

August 10: Second Saturday

August 11: Sunday

August 15: Independence Day

August 16: Compensatory holiday declared

August 18: Sunday

August 19: Rakshabandhan

August 25: Sunday

August 26: Janmashtami

Meanwhile, Karnataka and Kerala has been witnessing heavy rainfall this week. The Uttara Kannada district deputy commissioner (DC) Laxmipriya earlier declared a holiday for all schools and PU colleges in Karwar, Ankola, Kumta, Honnavar, Bhatkal, Sirsi, Siddapur, Yellapur, Dandeli and Joida taluks on Monday, citing ’red alert’ issued by India Meteorological Department (IMD), reported PTI. The vigorous monsoon conditions over Karnataka were due to the existing off-shore trough along the Maharashtra-north Kerala coast as well as the cyclonic circulation over the west-central Bay of Bengal, off coastal Andhra Pradesh, which is channelling more moisture into Karnataka, said KSNDMC.

Kerala too has been reeling under heavy monsoon showers In view of the incessant rains, the district authorities of Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod declared a holiday for educational institutions on Monday, reported PTI.
