The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the registration process for the Common University Entrance Test for Post-Graduate Programmes (CUET PG) 2024. An information bulletin has also been issued for this. According to the examination calendar released by NTA, the CUET PG will be conducted from March 11 to March 28, 2024, in two shifts — the first one from 10 am to noon and the second from 3 pm to 5 pm. The answer key will be released by April 4. The results will be released within three weeks of the final examination.
Change in official website: This year, the NTA has changed its official website. The CUET PG official website is now pgcuet.samarth.ac.in. Candidates who want to apply can do so by visiting the new website and registering themselves with their application number and password. Last year, the website was cuet.nta.nic.in.
Hike in application fees: The NTA has also increased the registration fees by Rs 200 in comparison to last year. Candidates belonging to the general category will now have to pay Rs 1,200 and those belonging to OBC-NCL, and Gen-EWS categories will have to pay Rs 1,000. Furthermore, last year, candidates had to pay Rs 500 for additional test papers but this year, the amount stands at Rs 600. Foreign candidates will have to pay Rs 6,000 for two papers and Rs 2,000 for each additional paper. Earlier, they were required to pay Rs 5,000 and Rs 1,500, respectively.
Number of MCQs reduced: NTA has also reduced the number of multiple choice questions (MCQs) that students are required to attempt. Till last year, the total number of questions in CUET PG was 100 but this year it has been decreased to 75.
Decreased in number of exam centres: The NTA has reduced the number of exam centres from 337 to 300 in India. The total number of exam cities including Indian and outside is 324. Candidates are allowed to select up to two cities.
