The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has recently announced to make experienced teachers headmasters. As per reports, the Head Teacher Appointment and Service Conditions Rules 2024 have been implemented recently. In this manual, guidelines related to the appointment of a headmaster have also been issued.
According to the Head Teacher Appointment and Service Conditions Rules 2024, the BPSC will examine the appointment of 40,000 head teachers in government primary schools. All candidates will get three chances. BPSC will prepare the syllabus and pattern of the examination in consultation with the Education Department.
Teachers coming under the purview of the Bihar Government Primary School Teacher Manual 2018 are not obliged to appear in this examination. They will be able to become head teachers through promotion, as per eligibility and vacancy. Along with this, it has been stated in this rule that the head teacher will be transferred. A head teacher can also be transferred outside the district by the Director of Primary Education.
Teachers who have a minimum of 8 years of teaching experience in government primary schools are eligible to take part in the examination. Those who are 58 years of age or less on August 1 of the year of appointment and trained teachers who are employed in local schools will be able to appear in the examination.
The salary and other allowances of the head teacher will be determined in consultation with the Finance Department.
Earlier, BPSC announced the probable dates for the third phase of teacher recruitment. The authorities have released the date of the examination and the results as well. As per the notification, the third phase of the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) will be held on August 24, 2024. It further states that the results will be declared on September 24, 2024. As per the Department of Education, the remaining vacancies from the last two phases will be added to the third phase, which might bring the number to 50,000.
