In line with Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand, another state is now gearing up for the recruitment of police constables. Assam Police has officially released a recruitment notification, marking the start of the online application period from February 1. Candidates have the opportunity to submit their application forms until February 15. The State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB) of Assam has mandated the online application process, which can be accessed through the official website slprbassam.in.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants interested in the position should have completed Class 10 from a recognised Board or Council. To be eligible, candidates must be between 18 and 40 years old as of January 1, 2024. Additionally, candidates must register their names with a local Employment Exchange in Assam.
Vacancy
As per the notification from the State Level Police Recruitment Board of Assam, there are 269 constable vacancies. The distribution based on categories is as follows: 82 for Unreserved, 64 for OBC/MOBC, 17 for SC, 24 for ST(P), and 77 for ST(H).
Application Fees
There is no application fee doe SLPRB Assam Constable exam.
Selection Process
The selection process includes Physical Standards Tests (PST) and Physical Efficiency Tests (PET), where the PET holds a weightage of 40 marks. Successful candidates in the PST/PET phase will qualify for the written test, which comprises 100 multiple-choice questions to be marked on an OMR answer sheet. Each correct answer earns the candidate half a mark. The written test is scheduled to take place in Guwahati, with the date and venue to be communicated in due course.
