Dale Steyn was in all praise for South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada for his game-changing spell against England in the T20 World Cup encounter. Rabada, who picked two crucial wickets, led the Proteas to a thrilling victory against the English team at the Beausejour Stadium in Gros Islet. The pacer maintained an economy of 8 runs per over while defending 163 runs. Lauding Rabada for his spell in an X post, Steyn wrote, “An aggressive Rabada equals a winning SA team. When he gives a f**k, and he showed that today, we inevitably win.”

Another said, “Superb display by Rabada, an aggressive force indeed. His passion was palpable, and South Africa reaped the rewards. England simply couldn’t match that intensity in the Super 8 clash.”

Another suggested that it had been long since the fans got to witness the aggressive side of Kagiso Rabada. “We haven’t seen that side of him since he got disciplined for that Warner issue all those years ago. An angry KG is a world-class KG, a soft one is a poor one,” he wrote.

A fan was in total agreement with Steyn’s words and wrote, “That’s very true. Rabada is still a top bowler if South Africa wants to win more games, Rabada has to step up.”

With a target of 163 ahead of them, England were looking poised to seal a victory in the Super 8 encounter. The English batters smashed 52 between the 15th and the 17th over. However, Kagiso Rabada’s return in the 18th over titled the match in South Africa’s favour. The Proteas’ pacer started with a dot ball against Liam Livingstone. He then delivered a lower full toss next to dismiss Livingstone at 33 runs. Rabada conceded just four runs in the remaining four deliveries to boost his side’s chances of notching a win.
Marco Jansen and Anrich Nortje bowled the final two overs to seal a marginal victory for South Africa. The Proteas have now won both games in the T20 World Cup Super 8 stage. They will be looking to register their third consecutive victory against the West Indies. The two teams will clash on June 24 at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.
