After a big win in the one-off Test, the Indian women’s team is set to take on South Africa in a three-match T20I series. India were spotless in the Test, courtesy a couple of brilliant performances from Shefali Verma and Smriti Mandhana.
The duo gave the hosts a perfect start by building a partnership of 292 runs. The impressive tally saw them break the record for the highest opening partnership in women’s Tests.
Having accumulated a record 603 runs in the first innings, India eventually won the match by 10 wickets. India will aim to continue their winning momentum having earlier clean swept South Africa in a three-match ODI series as well.
India head into this fixture with a superior overall head-to-head record. In 16 matches, the hosts have won nine times with the Proteas winning six.
