New Delhi: Thinking of investing in a new house in Delhi? Well, don't be in a rush. After Noida and Gurgaon, the hunt for a home may take you up North where Delhi's development authority has a new township planned for you.

If the DDA has its way, you will soon have the option of making a good bargain in the agency's newest housing scheme.

An 8194-hectare plot right in the heart of North Delhi bounded by the Yamuna in the East and the outer ring road in the South. The township will have the capacity to house 19 lakh people.

This is the very site where the DDA is planning a mega township in the North of Delhi. Imagine houses, hospitals, schools and parks will completely transform the vast tract of land into Delhi's newest and glitziest residential complex.

Special provisions are being made for common problems like parking, electricity and water. A metro link will make it even more accessible.

And the USP of the colony will be its almost 2000 hectare green belt, which will include two bio diversity parks.

Divided in twelve zones, the complex will boast of 1 University and 10 new colleges, 2 hospitals each having 300 plus beds, an IT park as well as an exhibition centre like Pragati Maidan and an amusement park on the lines of Appu Ghar.

For the first time private builders will be invited to partner with the DDA to develop this mega project.

DDA board member Jial Singh Chauhan says, “It will be built in two years because private players will finish it much faster than the DDA.''

The DDA is planning to finalise the layout plans for the township in February and construction work could begin next year itself.

What's your reaction?
