When Mahesh Bhatt Warned Emraan Hashmi About 'Throwing Him Out' From His Debut
Emraan Hashmi said that Mahesh Bhatt had also told him that they would not be able to spend more money on him if the audience didn't accept him.

Emraan Hashmi is among the most popular actors in Bollywood. The actor has had a fantastic career and has been a part of some of the most popular films. Emraan has craved a niche for himself and enjoys a great fan following. The actor is all set to star in the upcoming Disney Plus Hotstar web series, Showtime. During the promotion of the series, the Jannat actor talked about his journey in Bollywood. He was also seen talking about what Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt had told him while launching him in the actor’s debut film.

Emraan Hashmi made his acting debut with the 2003 film Footpath. In an interview, the actor revealed that he was hired at a time when his family’s production house, Vishesh Films, was in a transitional phase where they decided to launch new actors and not work with the stars. He added that the production company wanted to launch a homegrown actor, and that is where he came into the picture.

He added that his family’s production company was taking a chance with him. Emraan revealed that his launch wasn’t easy. He said, “Mahesh Bhatt once told me if you are not good in that first shot, and then subsequently in the scenes, we will throw you out of this film. Then you can forget about acting.” He added that this had instilled fear in him regarding his launch. He continued saying that Mahesh Bhatt had also told him that they would not be able to spend more money on him if the audience didn’t accept him.

Emraan Hashmi was last seen in the hit film Tiger 3, alongside Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. He will be next seen as the character of a producer in his next show, Showtime. The Disney Plus Hotstar series has been created and written by Sumit Roy, with Mihir Desai attached as a showrunner. The series is directed by Mihir and Archit Kumar and backed by Karan Johar. The show has an ensemble cast including Rajeev Khandelwal, Mouni Roy, Naseeruddin Shah, Mahima Makwana, and Shriya Saran in key roles. The web show will make its premiere on March 8.
