Popular Kannada actor Darshan has appeared in several blockbuster hits and boasts a large fan base. His latest film, Kaatera, directed by Tharun Sudhir and starring Aradhana Ram and Jagapathi Babu, has been doing well at the box office. The film has completed its 50 days in theatres. Despite the film’s success, a dispute between Darshan and producer Umapathy Srinivasa has taken the internet by storm.
Meanwhile, Umapathy Srinivasa, who contested elections the last time on a Congress ticket, is considering running again in the upcoming polls. And now reports say that Darshan will take part in a bike rally in the Bommanahalli assembly constituency, where Umapathy is a contender.
Sources say Darshan will join his fans for a bike rally. Some believe Darshan’s fans are holding the rally in Umapathy’s area because of personal issues. It remains to be seen if the police allow the rally to happen.
The rally is scheduled to take place on Monday at 6 pm, starting from Bommanahalli and concluding at HS Layout.
Darshan campaigned against Umapathy Srinivasa on behalf of the BJP candidate, Satish Reddy, in the last elections.
The relationship between Darshan and Srinivasa took a downturn when Srinivasa was embroiled in a forgery case. Srinivasa claimed that he had initially suggested the title of Kaatera and intended to produce the film. But during a recent event, Darshan addressed the dispute saying he had proposed the title for the film. Darshan also asked him the reason for rejecting to be part of such a promising project as Kaatera.
Srinivasa responded to Darshan’s claims and said he faced the financial hurdles and praised Rockline Venkatesh for the success of Kaatera. Srinivasa clarified that although Darshan gave the title for the film, he is responsible for financial help, including its registration. Both parties have made their claims; still, the matter remains unresolved.
