Vande Bharat Express: Expands Mumbai-Goa Services to Six Days a Week
Vande Bharat Express gains immense popularity on the Mumbai-Goa route, now running six days a week due to soaring demand.

The Vande Bharat Express is witnessing an unprecedented surge in passenger numbers, with the Mumbai-Goa route garnering exceptional praise.

The timing couldn’t be more perfect, with the festival season in full swing. As a result, the railway department is gearing up to introduce an exciting new schedule for the Mumbai-Goa railway line.

Currently, the Vande Bharat Express is gracefully running three times a week on the Mumbai-Goa Central Railway line. However, to accommodate the mounting demand, it will now be in operation for six days each week, excluding Fridays. The age spectrum of passengers reveling in the Vande Bharat experience predominantly falls within the 15-30 and 31-45 years age groups.

The onset of the Diwali holidays and the upcoming New Year celebrations have spurred a surge in travelers headed for Konkan and Goa. Beginning November 1, the new schedule will take effect on the Konkan Railway, offering a daily commute, except on Fridays, for CSMT-Madgaon-CSMT Vande Bharat.

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Madgaon-Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Vande Bharat Express has garnered immense passenger satisfaction on the Mumbai-Goa railway line. Currently operating thrice a week, it will soon expand to six days, with Fridays dedicated to maintenance and upkeep.

Embarking from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, the Vande Bharat Express ventures towards the pristine Madgaon station in Goa. Comprising eight coaches, this remarkable journey traverses a distance of 586 km in just eight hours. Astonishingly, this journey is three to four hours faster than other high-speed trains on this route, ensuring ‘Vande Bharat’ reaches Konkan swiftly. This, in turn, is expected to catalyze a tourism boom in the region.

The Vande Bharat Express adheres to two distinct schedules, tailored for non-monsoon and monsoon seasons:

Non-monsoon schedule: The train departs from CSMT in Mumbai at 5:35 a.m., reaching Madgaon at 1:15 p.m. Departing from Madgaon at 2:35 p.m., it returns to CSMT by 10:25 p.m.

The fares for the Vande Bharat Express offer flexibility, with C coaches ranging from Rs 1,100 to Rs 1,600. Meanwhile, the railway administration’s executive class, encompassing the first-class coaches, falls within the fare range of Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,800.
