The Uttar Pradesh government, led by CM Yogi Adityanath, has plenty of reasons to be proud of in terms of development efforts.

The launching of new expressways, as well as the construction and expansion of new and existing roads, has increased connectivity throughout Uttar Pradesh, boosting the state’s growth on several fronts.

According to Times Now, another aspect has been added to this growth journey; Uttar Pradesh now has the most cities with metro facilities. The industrial units and rising industries in the state demonstrate that Uttar Pradesh is on its way to being developed and self-sufficient.

There is an unprecedented effort being made in every department, from law and order to the transportation system. The following are the sectors in which UP has demonstrated massive improvement:

Metro Service

In addition to the capital city of Lucknow, the metro is effectively running in Kanpur, Ghaziabad, Noida, and Greater Noida. Furthermore, the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) is building the metros in Agra and Meerut. Plans are also being considered for the metros in Varanasi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, and Bareilly.

Noida Metro, which operates in Uttar Pradesh, is also one of the major metro operating networks. Its construction was completed in two phases. The first phase runs from Delta 1 to Sector 51, followed by the second phase from Sector 51 to Knowledge Park 5. According to reports, there is also a plan to connect the Greater Noida West metro to Jewar Airport.

Metro in Agra

Metro service in Agra will begin soon. According to reports, the Agra Metro is a rapid transit network that is currently under development. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) was presented in 2014 and authorised by the Uttar Pradesh cabinet in 2015.

Kanpur Metro (Second Phase)

The first phase of the metro has begun in Kanpur, while some building work remains in the second phase. Kanpur Metro was opened on December 28, 2021, and construction is currently underway to run the metro in two phases. According to reports, the first phase has 23 stations, while the second phase will contain approximately eight.

Lucknow Metro Expansion

Lucknow Metro covers a distance of 22.87 km and has 22 stations. Earlier this year, the Uttar Pradesh state government reportedly intended to expand the Lucknow Metro for the comfort of its citizens.
