With the recent registration of its trademark and impending launch, TVS appears to be preparing to take its place in the competitive adventure bike market with the Apache RTX.
Currently, bikes like the Suzuki V-Strom SX 250, BMW G 310 GS, Hero XPulse, KTM Adventure, Royal Enfield Himalayan, and others dominate the market. The new bike – Apache RTX will be built on the same 310cc base that BMW and TVS motorcycles already ride on. It consists of the BMW G310R, G310RR, and G310GS, as well as the Apache RR310 and RTR310.
TVS Apache RTX: What All Can We Expect?
The new RTX adventure bike will feature an aggressive profile, keeping with the Apache bike’s design language. Highlights will include a striking front fascia, elevated front beak, small windscreen, layered shoulder panels, upswept exhaust, rear rack, and exposed frame in contrasting colour. The LED headlamp with integrated LED DRL and golden USD forks are other noteworthy features.
A variety of eye-catching colour schemes will be available for Apache RTX. It will have a complete digital instrument cluster with a wide variety of display components. To access a variety of features and services, users will be able to link their cell phones via Bluetooth. Additionally, via the TVS SmartXonnect connection suite, this will be accessible. A variety of metrics and statistics are accessible through the app. Users will have access to all the information on their journey and riding preferences.
TVS Apache RTX: Engine, Fuel Efficiency, and Features
The TVS Apache RTX will be powered by a 313cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, water-cooled engine. It will have a maximum torque of 28 Nm and a peak output of 34 horsepower. It is coupled to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox. Like the BMW G310GS, which can reach a peak speed of 143 kmph, the Apache RTX will be able to reach comparable speeds, as per reports. The fuel economy will be about 28 km/l.
A large portion of Apache RTX’s equipment will be derived from the BMW G310GS. The bike will include a monoshock rear suspension system, a tubular space frame, 41mm USD forks, a cast aluminium dual swing arm, front and rear disc brakes measuring 300 mm and 240 mm, and dual-channel ABS. Furthermore, alloy wheels measuring 19 inches up front and 17 inches behind will be fitted to the bike. The overall measurements will resemble those of the BMW G310GS. The latter measures 1,230 mm in height, 880 mm in width, and 2,075 mm in length, while the height of the seat is 835 mm.
TVS Apache RTX: Price and Launch
Similar to earlier Apache bikes, an assortment of accessories will be included with the new RTX adventure bike. An adventure-related kit may include heated grips, a topcase, a 12V plug, and a low or high seat choice depending on the rider’s height. The TVS Apache RTX may reportedly arrive shortly, with a starting price of about Rs 3 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
