The 2012 Honda CR-V, of which recently some artist renderings were floating around on the net, will officially be on sale across dealerships in Japan from 2nd December 2011. The new CR-V boasts of having an aggressive design language coupled with enhanced ride comfort, more cargo space and also better fuel efficiency than its predecessor. Apart from the 2.4l four wheel drive model, there will also be a 2.0l front wheel driven variant.
According to Honda's official website, the new CR-V comes with 65 litres of extra cargo space and also 225mm of extra interior space. The 2.0l variant comes with a CVT transmission while the 2.4l one is be mated to a five speed automatic, with the 2.0l model boasting of an impressive 14.4kmpl (Japanese cycle). For the Indian market, what Honda needs will be a diesel engine under the hood of the new CR-V and also a reduction from the current sub Rs 27 lakh price tag.
