The new Nissan X-Trail will be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and will compete with popular models like the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, and MG Gloster.

Built on the CMF-C platform, the X-Trail is designed to impress with its size. It is 4,680 mm long, 1,840 mm wide, and 1,725 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,705 mm. In India, Nissan will offer the 3-row version, making it a spacious option for families.

According to the official Press Release, Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, commented, ” The launch of the All-New 4th Generation Nissan X-TRAIL marks the beginning of our product offensive in India. The relaunch of our CBU business will provide flagship & aspirational Nissan SUVs like the X-TRAIL that embodies sophistication, versatility, and a penchant for premium driving experience while adding to the resurgence of the Nissan brand in India.”

Under the hood, the X-Trail boasts a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine paired with a 12V mild-hybrid system. This combination delivers 160 BHP and 300 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a shift-by-wire CVT gearbox and features a limited-slip differential for better handling.

The India-spec X-Trail comes packed with modern features. It includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Other notable features are a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 2-zone automatic climate control, wireless charger, cruise control, and an electronic parking brake.

Safety is a top priority in the new X-Trail. It comes with 7 airbags, a 360-degree camera, automatic wipers, traction control, hill-start assist, front parking sensors, ABS, and EBD.
