As the festive season kicks off, Mercedes-Benz has launched the most-awaited facelifted version of the GLE SUV in India at a starting price of Rs 96.40 lakh(ex-showroom).
Customers will be able to select from three versions of the GLE, with deliveries expected in November 2023.
Mercedes-Benz GLE Facelift: Design
The facelifted GLE gets a range of improvements, such as reworked bumpers, new grille, fresh LED headlamps, taillights and alloys. Minor modifications to the overall design keep the SUV looking contemporary despite the largely unchanged overall design.

The facelifted GLE boasts of a major refresh inside, including a new touch-sensitive steering wheel with haptic feedback buttons borrowed from the S-Class. Secondly, it comes with new trims and upholsteries, and a refreshed MBUX Infotainment system. Other features include AC vents with chrome surrounds, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, wireless Apple Carplay & Android Auto, 13-speaker Burmester surround sound system, wireless charging, USB Type C ports, a 360-degree camera, and Mercedes’ innovative ‘Transparent Bonnet’ function. The top-spec GLE 450 and 450d models come equipped with air suspension, promising an exceptionally smooth ride.
Mercedes-Benz GLE Facelift: Engine
Mercedes-Benz still has the 300d and 450 versions, but replaces the 400d with the 450d, sold at Rs 1.10 crore (ex-showroom). Whilst, the 450 version is priced at Rs 1.15 crore (ex-showroom). The four-cylinder 300d, priced at Rs 96.40 lakh (ex-showroom), generates 269 bhp and 550 Nm, the six-cylinder 450d produces 367 bhp and 750 Nm and the six-cylinder 4 All engines have a 48V ISG mild-hybrid system that adds 20 bhp more and 200Nm.
Mercedes-Benz GLE Facelift: Rivals
With a price tag of Rs 96.4 lakh, the GLE LWB facelift is poised to go head-to-head with its competitors in the luxury SUV arena. It’s set to take on formidable rivals like the BMW X5 (Rs 95.2 lakh), Audi Q7 (Rs 84.7 lakh), and the Range Rover Velar (Rs 94.3 lakh). (all prices, exshowroom).
