Kawasaki India has launched the Versys X-300 in India at a price tag of Rs 4.6 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The newly launched model belongs to Kawasaki’s family of adventure touring motorcycles and is the entry-level offering of the same. The X-300 will be assembled at Kawasaki’s plant in Chakan, Pune.
It is powered by a 296cc parallel-twin engine which has been tuned for better low-end and mid-range torque delivery. The fuel-injected engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission and develops 39 PS of power and 27 Nm of torque.
Yutaka Yamashita, Managing Director of India Kawasaki Motors said: “What makes Versys-X 300 versatile is comfortable highway cruising and easy riding in the city." The versatility is possible mainly because of long travel suspension, wide reach bars and a low seat aid the manoeuvrability of the twin-cylinder machine.
Other features include a long-travel 41mm suspension at the front and a mono-shock setup at the back. There’s also a big 19-inch spoked wheel at the front and braking duties are done by a single 290mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the back.
