If you can afford a Ferrari LaFerrari and yet it is not good enough for you, then the Italian automaker had you in my mind when they designed the drop top version of their flagship model. No seriously, their latest offering is aimed, in their own words “at clients and collectors that refuse to compromise on the joy of drop-top driving even when at the wheel of a supercar”.
Although the company has only released images of the car as of now, the name and technical details will be announced at the Paris International Motor Show, along with how many of these limited edition offerings are going to be made.
However, all of them are already sold after a special preview to clients and the order book is closed.
The limited edition LaFerrari will be available with a removable carbon fibre hard top and a removable soft top. It has the same running gear and performance figures as the original LaFerrari, sporting a 789 horsepower V12 engine coupled with a 160 horsepower electric motor, unleashing a monstrous 949 horsepower in total.
According to Ferrari, they have also made significant and extensive modifications under the skin with the aim of retaining the same torsional rigidity and beam stiffness as the coupé version. The car’s aerodynamics have also been honed to guarantee the same drag coefficient even without the roof.
