BMW i8 Roadster Official Teaser Out, to Be Launched in 2018
The BMW i8 is company's first open-top hybrid and will be officially launched in 2018.

BMW has officially launched a teaser video of company’s first open-top hybrid, i8 Roadster. The teaser video shows a camouflaged i8 Roadster with a closed roof. Looking quite similar to the current i8, the most anticipated member of BMW’s ‘i family’, the i8 Roadster will be officially launched in 2018.

The BMW i8 Roadster is expected to be a two-seater as shown in the teaser video. The official teaser also proves that the new i8 will keep its trademark scissor doors and the 21-sec brief video filmed inside wind tunnel ensures that there are no aerodynamics consequences from removing the roof.

BMW has yet to reveal any detail on the performance of the i8 Roadster but the company has preliminary released the fuel efficiency figures. The company claims the car to have energy consumption (combined): 15,4 kWh/100 km and fuel consumption (combined): 2,0 l/100 km.

The i8 Roadster is expected to be officially revealed in full this September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
