Woman Surprises Her Mother With A ‘Taco Fountain’, And Now We Want It Too

Tacos are a type of traditional Mexican flatbread wrapped with delicious fillings. This corn or wheat-based tortilla is a staple snack item in many households. The soft and melt-in-the-mouth texture of this dish is loved not just by Mexicans but by people across the world too. However, an individual’s fondness for tacos was so great that she decided to make a fountain filled with loads and loads of tacos. Recently, a social media user dropped a video on Instagram where she and her father constructed a huge taco fountain at their home to surprise her mother.

The video opens with the woman and her dad taking out a table from their dining area and bringing the separated pieces of the fountain. Step by step, they build the three-layered fountain, with the lowermost platform being the largest, followed by the medium-sized and the last being the smallest one. On the lower bowl, the woman pours multiple packets of crispy tortilla strips uniformly.

In the second tier, she spreads a long strip of aluminium foil and drains a buck filled with cheese into it. Meat chunks, vegetables, green onion slices and a can of chilli-tomato mixture are also added to the thick cheese. The ingredients are stirred well. On the top layer of the fountain, the woman drizzled plenty of salsa sauce. A wooden platform on the top bowl held a stack of plates.

Once the set-up was complete, the woman introduced her mother to the wonderful taco fountain. She gave out a surprised reaction, unable to control her emotions. It seemed that the user’s mother loved tacos, as when she entered through the door, she had a packet of tortilla strips in her hands. The woman’s mother took out a plate and enjoyed the culinary delight.

Social media users were not quite impressed by the video and disapproved of the feat. While one individual criticised, “This is the dumbest thing I have ever seen in my entire life,” another was deterred by the idea of “cold meat and coagulated cheese”. “Tacos have to be hot, fresh food nothing from a can,” opined a third user. Many thought it to be a “waste of food”.

So far, the video has amassed over 3.1 million views.
