Amid the controversy over water leakage in the new Parliament building after the recent heavy rains in Delhi, another viral video has given an opportunity to Congress to take a dig at the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In a viral video, a monkey is spotted inside the MPs’ lobby in Parliament.
On August 2, the new Parliament building in New Delhi had an unexpected visitor—a monkey. It was found resting on a chair inside the lobby reserved for Members of Parliament.
The mischievous guest visited just days after the new Parliament building made headlines for leakages during heavy rains in the capital city.
The viral video opens with the monkey jumping from one chair to another. After seeing the few officials sitting nearby, the monkey jumps down the chair and walks up to them.
“A monkey sneaked into the premises of Indian Parliament,” a user wrote sharing the video.

Congress leader Rajeev Reddy also posted another video of the monkey on X, in which the animal can be seen sitting comfortably on a chair in the foyer.

Several areas of Delhi were flooded on July 31 due to heavy rain. A few videos and images of a leaking roof in the new Parliament building also emerged on social media. This led to a political war of words with even the Opposition MPs raising the issue in the Parliament.
The government has issued a clarification stating that the “minor leakage” was found in a timely manner and “corrective measures were taken immediately.”
