A burqa-clad man on his way to secretly meet his girlfriend was caught by passersby due to his masculine gait. When some men tried pulling his burqa, they discovered a weapon resembling a pistol hidden under his belt.
The incident took place in Pipalsana village in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad. Passersby on the road saw a burqa-clad person walking quickly towards the town. Growing suspicious, they started following the stranger. Noticing his manly gait, they stopped him in the market. Despite questioning, he refused to remove his veil. Gradually, a crowd gathered around him and pulled off his veil.
Initially, people labeled him a child trafficker and demanded his Aadhaar card. However, the man said that he did not have it with him. As the situation escalated, some wanted to beat him up, while others suggested handing him over to the police.
When men tried to pull him aside, they found something resembling a weapon hidden under his belt. Someone from the crowd snatched it, and it appeared to be an imported pistol, but it was later found to be a modified cigarette lighter.
The police arrived at the scene, took the burqa-clad man into custody, and began questioning him. The man, identified as Chand alias Bhura, a resident of Akbarpur village, revealed that he had come to Pipalsana wearing a burqa to meet his girlfriend without arousing suspicion or getting caught.
The case is currently under investigation. Police said they would take appropriate action against the man following their inquiry.
