Video Of Four-layered 'Junglee' Sandwich, Filled With Cheese, Has No Takers

When it comes to sandwiches, how can we miss Mumbai’s biggest sandwich, the Junglee Sandwich? Yes, you heard that right. Mumbai’s street food caters to all palates and dietary needs, and some vendors push it to the extreme to create something different. In a bid to do something similar, a sandwich vendor in the Borivali neighbourhood of Mumbai is selling a four-bread-layered “junglee” sandwich infused with tonnes of veggies and cheese.

Sharing a video of the same on Instagram, a food vlogger showed how the sandwich is prepared. The video begins to show the man taking out four bread slices and trimming their corners. He then puts butter on them and coated two slices with green sauce, before adding a few baby corn strips. Next, he covers the bread with peanut butter and salt, followed by onion and capsicum chunks. As the video progresses, the man drizzles white sauce over them and tops them off with a generous quantity of grated cheese.

Then comes another bread slice upon the fillings, where he adds pineapple wedges, jalapenos, more white sauce, and cheese. Hold on to your horses, there is more. The vendor spreads mustard sauce on one of the slices and adds a few slices of tomato and tomato sauce to it to jazz up the flavours. Moving on, he sprinkles some masala, cabbage, three additional layers of grated cheese, and a small quantity of mayo on it.

At last, he tops the junglee sandwich with potato chips before serving. In addition to sharing the video, the Instagram user also shared the location of the food vendor in the caption.

Though innovative, this giant sandwich ends up being a nightmare for foodies everywhere. Food enthusiasts thronged the comments section to share their views on the Biggest Junglee Sandwich. Calling it unhealthy, a majority of viewers expressed their disappointment with the overuse of ingredients.

“Very unhealthy. These food sellers have no idea about the food. No knowledge about food, only making unhealthy food and making people sick,” a user commented. Adding a tweak of humour, a user wrote, “Bro was just cleaning out his fridge and made you pay for it.”

“Why? Why do people making street food in India ruin a basic sandwich? How is anyone even supposed to eat that?” posted another user. Completely opposing the idea of trying the snack, an individual wrote, “That’s the most disgusting sandwich-making I have ever seen.”
