Mark Zuckerberg Describes Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang As 'Taylor Swift For Tech'
Meanwhile, Meta executive Melinda Davenport said, “This is absolutely epic. Two legends."

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently shared a photo with Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang. In the photo, Zuckerberg and Huang swapped their jackets, with the Nvidia boss wearing a brown jacket and the Meta chief sporting Huang’s trademark black jacket. Zuckerberg simply captioned the photo as “Jersey swap.” This photo garnered more than a lakh likes in less than a day.

Meta executive Melinda Davenport commented on the post, “This is absolutely epic. Two legends.” Another Instagram user asked Zuckerberg if he was planning to buy Nvidia’s H100 graphics processing unit (GPU) chip and he wrote that he was planning to buy the B100 chips instead.

Someone else noted, “I don’t know who that is but I’m just glad you’re having fun.” Zuckerberg responded to this comment and described Huang as “He’s like Taylor Swift, but for tech.” Zuckerberg was referring to Huang’s massive fan following amongst tech, AI and gaming enthusiasts. This comment got over 1,300 likes.

As per Quartz, Huang has been spotted wearing a black jacket in almost all public appearances since 2013. In 2016, Huang took part in an ask-me-anything (AMA) session on Reddit. At the start of the Q&A, he introduced himself as “I am Jen-Hsun Huang, CEO of NVIDIA. You may know me better as ‘the guy in the leather jacket who repeats things three times.’ ha ha ha.”

Huang’s public persona has risen dramatically in recent years, thanks to the rise in AI-backed technology. His company Nvidia is credited with inventing the graphics processing unit (GPU) used in gaming systems. Now, GPUs have become essential to AI-based deep-learning applications, this has given Nvidia new-found clients and global prestige. As per estimates by Forbes, Huang is the 17th richest person in the USA and the 76th richest person in the world.

Huang is one of the many tech moguls known for having a ‘uniform’. Mark Zuckerberg was famous for his grey T-shirts, although he is shedding that image by wearing more diverse designer clothes. Steve Jobs was known for his black turtlenecks. Most billionaires stick to familiar clothes as it spares them the needless stress of choosing an outfit every day. The same appears to be the case for Huang.

A spokesperson for Huang told New York Times in January 2023 that Huang “dresses in the same style of black pants and shirt because it presents one fewer set of decisions to be made each day.” The spokesperson mentioned that they do not know which brand of jackets or clothing the 61-year-old prefers.
