Young Children often fear ghosts or fictitious monsters they hear about in bedtime stories or watch on the screen. Parents find numerous ways to calm them down when they are scared of these creatures. But recently, a couple in Charlotte, North Carolina were left confused when their child complained about hearing monsters in the room. On probing further they discovered a horrific sight of about 50,000 bees behind the wall of their house.
As per a report by People, the mother, Ashley Massis Class took it lightly when her child informed her that she heard “monsters” in her room. To convince her child, she created a fake “monster spray” using a water-filled spray bottle. But when the child continued complaining, the parents delved deeper. They reportedly discovered around 50,000 bees in the attic and walls of their 100-year-old farmhouse.
Ashley told the portal, “She was saying she heard monsters in her bedroom wall, but we’d been watching Monster’s Inc. She was a little speech-delayed, so when she tried explaining it, we thought she meant there were monsters in her closet.” The parents first had their suspicions when they spotted honeybees in their attic and contacted a pest control company. The expert, however, told them that it was nothing serious. They then hired a beekeeper, who was first unable to locate honeybees in her home. However, using a thermal camera, the professional spotted almost 50,000 bees. She stated, “He didn’t even have his bee gear on yet, but he took a hammer and knocked into the wall. Bees came swarming out like a horror movie.”
Reportedly, it was one the biggest bee hives the expert had seen in his 40-year career. The bees were swarming in the room with honey dripping all over the wall. “There were streams of bees, and the wall where he hit was oozing honey. But it looked like blood because it was really, really dark, running down my daughter’s pink walls,” said Ashley.
Ashley also spoke with her daughter about the whole issue and explained to her about the bees. She was further thankful that both she and her husband were on leave at the moment to take care of this situation but indeed the whole aspect of having bees inside the wall was horrifying.
