In Hindu scriptures, the cow goddess Kamdhenu is highly revered and is said to grant her owners whatever they desire in plenty. The bovine Goddess is described as having a white cow’s body and a woman’s head, while also having wings. Kamdhenu is believed to have existed in the Dwapara Yug but locals in Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh are sure that Kamdhenu has returned in the present Kalyug in the form of a cow owned by a local. There is a cow in the district, which is considered to be the Kamdhenu of Kalyug. This cow has been giving milk for 5 and a half years without giving birth to any calf.
This cow from Damak Panchayat, under Sihawal in Sidhi, has gained widespread attention. Reportedly, the cow has been producing 4 to 5 litres of milk every morning and evening for the past five and a half years. The remarkable aspect is that the cow has never given birth. Currently, the cow is 7 years old and is said to have started producing milk at just 18 months old.
Cow breeder Ashutosh Tiwari mentioned that he has always had a strong passion for raising cows. He noticed that this particular cow was unique from birth. In March 2019, when the cow was 18 months old, its udders suddenly became thick, leading him to believe that milk had started to form. He began milking the cow from that point on. This cow belongs to the Sahiwal breed. Tiwari also shared that he owns three cows in total- one Desi and two Sahiwal.
Locals come to see the cows and worship her as a reincarnation of Kamdhenu. According to Pandit Indramani Ghanshyam, Kamdhenu was born out of the churning of the cosmic ocean, also known as Samudra Manthan. Only 14 valuable things came out from the Samudra Manthan and one of them was Kamdhenu.
