IAS officer Awanish Sharan described his journey from his days as a civil service aspirant to a distinguished government official today. His X post includes a side-by-side comparison of two photographs: one from 15 years ago, catching a determined man in his early days of striving for achievement, and the other from today, depicting him sitting in the dignified office of the collector and district magistrate of Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. IAS Awanish Sharan is one of the most popular officers on social media. He is known for posting snippets from his life on the social media site and the netizens appear to be motivated by them. Last year, he posted a picture on X commemorating his 14th year in the Civil Services. He posted a picture of himself, most likely on his first day as an IAS officer. The photo stamped ‘3/08/2009’ shows him smiling on a monsoon day. IAS Awanish Sharan shared the photo on Twitter and captioned it, “Completed 14 Years in IAS.”

Awanish Sharan’s journey to becoming an IAS officer was equally fraught with challenges. Previously, he confessed that he failed the State Public Service Commission’s preliminary exam more than ten times before realising his dream.
