Ex-Amazon VP Says CEO Seduced Wife, Offers Tips To Learn From His 'Pain'
In an elaborate post on LinkedIn, Ethan Evans made the sensational claim and added that he "truly understands how some executive teams can be political snake pits".

A former Vice President with Amazon has made a shocking revelation, claiming that the CEO of a startup organisation he previously worked with seduced his wife and led to their divorce. Ethan Evans took to social media and offered advice on how to deal with the dangers of office politics. In an elaborate post on LinkedIn, the Seattle-based man made the sensational claim and added that he “truly understands how some executive teams can be political snake pits".

“A CEO that I worked for seduced my wife in direct retaliation for my pushback on him at work. He won. I got divorced and left the company. When I say I truly understand how some executive teams can be political snake pits, I trust you will believe me," Ethan Evans penned.

He went on with his suggestions noting, “Learn from my pain – do the following: 1) When you have a good manager, lean in and take advantage of it. 2) Spot the snakes. 3) Do excellent work, even for nasty leaders.

4) Don’t confront the snakes directly. 5) Don’t become a snake.

In his post, Evans elaborated the first two points and highlighted that if someone has a good manager, he or she must hold on to the person. He concluded his first point by warning, “Leave before the snake bites."

The ex-Amazon employee’s second point is about identifying the dishonest people among the lot. “With the CEO I talk about, I had “spotted the snake" – my mistake was staying too long and getting bitten," he added.

Evans shared a detailed account of his side of the story on his Level Up newsletter. No wonder, social media was abuzz with Evans’ sensational claim.

A user said, “The snakes are good at hiding and biting. Hence my advice: if you encounter a seemingly incompetent person in a high position, run! don’t fight! They will have skills that you don’t have (and probably don’t want to have)."

Another emphasised, “Your ex-wife bears her share of responsibility. If she truly loved you, no one else—regardless of their status, intelligence, or appearance could’ve swayed her."

Someone also asked, “How to avoid a confrontation with the snake? It’s inevitable." Another comment read, “This is going so viral on X, hope you don’t regret sharing this."

Interestingly, a woman claiming to be his former wife reacted to the development on X. She asserted, “Ex-wife here! To clear the record, his CEO did not “seduce" me. I seduced him."

Ethan Evans has had a prolonged career of around 15 years at Amazon. He started as a senior manager and rose to become the vice president of Prime Gaming in 2019. He retired from the e-commerce giant in September 2020.
