13-Year-Old's 'Casual' Attitude After Being Caught Riding Leaves Internet Surprised
The police officer asked the teen why he was riding the scooter. The boy said he wouldn't do it again.

In India, the legal age of driving a motor vehicle is 18 years. Additionally, the driver must have a driver’s license that permits them to drive publicly. However, often teenagers act gutsy as they ride two-wheelers on their own, in the absence of adult supervision. Now a video is going viral, in which a 13-year-old boy is apprehended by a traffic policeman. The cop asks the young boy, who is riding a scooter without a helmet, to put his bike on the side. He then asks the young boy to call his parents, to which the boy asks the policeman for the phone so that he can call his father. The policeman politely asks the boy why he is riding the scooter to which the boy says that he will not do so in future.

The policeman tells the boy that he will call his father and fine them under the law. All this while, the young boy appears oddly calm and keeps chewing gum. The netizens were quick to pick on the boy’s ‘casual’ attitude. Commenting on this video, an X user wrote, “Chewing gum gives a different level of confidence!! Phone dijiye sir!” Another person wrote, “Chewing gum is more important than challan.” Someone speculated, “I think his dad is a politician.”

Sagay Raj P tagged the Bengaluru City Police and the Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) in the incriminating video and mentioned that he took it at near the MG Road Metro station. He also shared the vehicle’s registration number.

Commenting on this video, an X user wrote, “I see so many children at the wheel on blr mysore express way. Parents look so proud. Accidents happen, people die, then they blame Govts & police for it.” Another person wrote, “Such idiots shouldn’t buy a car let alone have a kid. That is one dangerous car and very bad combo here.”

Later it was reported that the Cubbon Park Traffic Police fined the vehicle’s owner under the Motor Vehicles Act.
