The Redmi 3S, a successor to the Redmi 2 and Redmi 2 Prime, was first released in China and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM.

Xiaomi will be announcing the all-new - Redmi 3S - a budget smartphone in the Indian market on August 3. The Chinese smartphone maker has been dropping subtle hints through its social media posts about the upcoming budget smartphone that is likely to be priced under Rs 10,000.

The Redmi 3S, a successor to the Redmi 2 and Redmi 2 Prime, was first released in China and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM.

The affordable smartphone further features a 5-inch HD display, 13 megapixel rear camera, 5 megapixel front camera, 4100 mAh battery, and 16 GB internal storage that is expandable up to 128 GB. It runs Xiaomi's MIUI 7.0 based on the older Android 5.1 Lollipop.

When released internationally, the phone was made available in two memory configurations - 2GB RAM with 16GB internal storage and 3GB RAM with 32 GB internal storage. The phone supports dual SIM and is 4G enabled.

The launch event will also be live streamed at 12 noon.
