Qualcomm has announced its flagship Snapdragon 845 chipset at its annual technology summit in Hawaii. The Snapdragon 835 is the successor to the 835 mobile platform. It will offer better performance, battery life and camera and Chinese OEM Xiaomi will use the flagship Snapdragon 845 SoC in its next flagship smartphone- - the Mi 7.
While there is little known about the Snapdragon 845 platform, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has confirmed it for the next flagship Mi 7 smartphone. "Samsung Foundry will be the foundry for Snapdragon 845 as the Companies continue to work together to advance the silicon manufacturing process," said Qualcomm in a release. The Xiaomi chief claimed that 238 million Xiaomi smartphone units have been sold that use Qualcomm processors.
