New Delhi: Chinese smartphone Oppo has unveiled its latest R7 and R7 Plus smartphones which have been powered with the company’s latest ColorOS built on top of the popular Android system.
The Oppo R7 sports a smaller profile at 5-inches with AMOLED display of 1080p resolution, while the R7 Plus features a larger 6-inch edge-to-edge screen.
The duo comes with a Qualcomm 615 chipset with a 64-bit octa-core processor combined with 3GB RAM. The 4G smaller model has 16GB internal memory and 13 megapixel rear camera with autofocus and single LED flash. It is powered by a 2320mAh battery. It has dual-SIM slots, one of which doubles as a memory card slot.
The Oppo R7 Plus comes with an internal storage of 32GB. It also includes a 13 megapixel rear camera but with laser autofocus and dual-LED flash and an 8 megapixel front facing camera. The sensor inside the R7 Plus is of the RGBW variety that offers less noise in pictures and better light gathering capability.
The R7 Plus comes with VOOC rapid charging ability and has an additional feature of a fingerprint sensor at its back. The phone comes with a better 4100mAh battery.
Both the smartphones run Oppo’s own ColorOS v2.1 built on top of Android Lollipop 5.1. The R7 weighs 147g while the R7 Plus weighs 203g.
The Oppo R7 is priced at CNY 2,499 and the Oppo R7 Plus will sell for CNY 2,999. Both smartphones will be available for purchase in China starting today. An international rollout is slated for mid-June.
