OnePlus has finally talked about the recent motherboard issues faced by some OnePlus 9 and 10 Pro users in India. Reports this week have cited multiple complaints where OnePlus units have gone kaput and the company has quoted them a massive repair bill, much higher than the actual value of their units.
OnePlus 9 and 10 Pro users are reportedly the biggest victim of the issue and they claim to be facing this problem after downloading a software update. The person was then told by the OnePlus service repair team that changing the dead motherboard would cost them Rs 42,000 which is almost the price of a new OnePlus 10 Pro unit.
The company has spoken on the matter and shared its views with News18 Tech by saying, “‘We’re sorry to hear about some recent cases where the users are experiencing certain problems with their OnePlus 9 and 10 Pro regarding the motherboard of the device. Our customers’ user experience really matters to us. While we’re still investigating the cause, we want to assure you that we’re committed to resolving this for affected users as quickly as possible.”
OnePlus has also realised that the cost of repairing or replacing a motherboard is costly and it wants to help the affected users to get the right support by asking them to reach out to its customer service. “We know motherboard repairs can be costly, but we’re working hard to make them more affordable. We ask that any customers that are affected by a similar issue to get in contact with Customer Service so we can help resolve the situation as soon as possible,” the company added in its official statement.
It is good to see the company swiftly react and respond to the issues faced by its customers and we are hoping their investigation and redressal brings relief to the affected users and offer them encouragement to stay with the brand and entice more people to buy its products.
