iPhone Users Need to Update to iOS 14.4.2 Immediately! Apple Says Flaw May Have Been Actively Exploited
Apple has announced the update ahead of iOS 14.5 update which will bring a host of new changes.

Cupertino-based giant Apple is rolling out an iOS 14.4.2 update to fix a security flaw for the company’s WebKit, which it claims may have been actively exploited. The company is recommending all users to install the update immidiately as it focuses on addressing a critical security flaw that was discovered for WebKit. Apple explained the flaw in a support page. The company said that processing maliciously crafted web content may lead to universal cross site scripting. “Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited,” the support page said. Given that the flaw has been potentially exploited, Apple is urging all iPhone and iPad users to install an update immediately. iOS 14.4.2 is available for iPhone 6s and later, all iPad Pro models, iPad Air 2 and later, iPad 5th generation and later, iPad Mini and later, and iPod Touch (7th generation). The iOS 14.4.2 update comes alongside WatchOS 7.3.3 for Apple Watch.

The new update comes ahead of the much anticipated iOS 14.5 release, which is expected to introduce some new features like the ability to unlock your iPhone using Apple Watch (a blessing for those who have struggled to unlock their iPhone from under a mask). iOS 14.5 is also said to introduce a long-awaited App Tracking Transparency feature which will require developers to request user authorisation to access app-related data for tracking the users. For installing the iOS 14.4.2 update, users need to go into Settings > General > Software Update.
