Apple launched the new iPhone 16 series with AI features packed in thanks to the new A18 series hardware. But the company has also culled some of its older iPhone models in order to make room for the newer ones.
As we had expected earlier, Apple has taken off the AI-compatible iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models from its lineup, along with the iPhone 13. So, if you want to get an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence features, you will have to get the latest model, at least if you plan to buy it directly from the Apple Store.
iPhone 15 Pro Discontinued But Does It Matter?
Apple’s online catalogue doesn’t have the iPhone 15 Pro or the 15 Pro Max anymore. Instead, the lineup starts with the iPhone SE, and then you have the iPhone 14 and 15 models before the iPhone 16 series leads the way into the AI future.
But here’s the thing, Apple discontinues older models every year, does that mean you cannot buy these iPhones in the market anymore? Not at all, in fact, some of you might now be tempted into buying a Pro model, especially if you have been using the older iPhone 14 or even the regular iPhone 15 version. Just because Apple discontinues a product doesn’t mean they will go off the shelf any time soon.
You can still get yourselves a nice deal on these iPhone 15 Pro/15 Pro Max models from the nearest offline store. Apple will continue to offer new iOS updates for many years on these iPhones, and you will also get to use the AI features from the company. And as they say, the best time to buy an older iPhone is when the new one comes out, which rings true even in this case, now that the prices will drastically drop, helping stores clear off the stock and push the new iPhone 16 models to the consumers.
Similarly, the new AirPods 4 launch has marked the end of the older AirPods versions in the country, as the lineup now simply highlights the AirPods 4 variants, along with the AirPods Pro 2 and the AirPods Max in new colours.
