New Delhi: Congress chief Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra on Saturday responded to allegations that he made profits in Faridabad land deals.

"Truth shall prevail," Vadra said in a Facebook post.

According to the Dhingra report, Vadra is believed to have bent the rules aided by Former Haryana chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda to swing profitable land deals for his business.

Priyanka Vadra has hit back on Friday that the agricultural land bought by her in Haryana's Faridabad district had no links to the finances of her husband Robert Vadra’s Skylight Hospitality or the DLF.

In the statement, Priyanka said that six years prior to the alleged "land deal involving Skylight Hospitality" she purchased 40 kanal (five acres) agricultural land in Faridabad. She said the land was purchased for Rs 15 lakh through cheque.

The statement said the land was resold to the original owner four years later on February 17, 2010 for Rs 80 lakh, the then prevailing market price. The money was accepted through cheque. The earlier owner was made the offer to allow him exercise the right of first refusal, PTI reported.

The statement said the funds for the purchase came from rental income of Priyanka Gandhi from property inherited by her from her grandmother Indira Gandhi.
