Third and Final Phase of Voting for UP Municipal Elections Tomorrow
The result of the municipal body polls, which many claim to be a litmus test for CM Yogi Adityanath, will be announced on December 1.

Lucknow: The third and final phase of polling for the ongoing Municipal polls in UP will be held across 26 districts on Wednesday.

The result of the municipal body polls, which many claim to be a litmus test for CM Yogi Adityanath, will be announced on December 1.

Interestingly, this is the first time that all major political parties are directly contesting these local body elections. The last phase is for 233 local bodies spread over 4,299 wards, with 10,810 polling booths for over 94 lakh voters.

Several political big-wigs have taken to the ground and put their names on the stake. Adityanath himself held many rallies and addressed gatherings at many locations.

Meanwhile, the controversy over names missing from the voters’ list continued to create dark clouds over the elections. On Monday, Lucknow District Magistrate, Kaushal Raj Sharma, suspended three Booth Level Officers (BLO) after several names were missing from the voter list during the first and second phase of the polls.

The action came after the state Election Commission questioned DM Sharma over the complaints and had him order a probe into the matter.
