New Delhi: The government seems determined to go ahead with the Telangana statehood despite open revolt from even within its own ranks. It has announced the Group of Ministers, which includes Finance Minister P Chidambaram and Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shide, which will work out the modalities.

Meanwhile, protests continue over the decision as YSR Congress chief Jagan Mohan Reddy has now announced that he is going on a hunger strike for a united Andhra Pradesh. Jagan asked if the ordinance on criminal politicians can be withdrawn, why not the decision on Telangana.

HRD Minister Pallam Raju has said that he has decided to quit, making him the second Union Minister after Chiranjeevi quit on Thursday.

A 72-hour bandh is on in Andhra Pradesh even as Seemandhra leaders met Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy to finalise their strategy. Congress MP L Rajagopal has said that he will move the Supreme Court to challenge the Telangana decision.
