New Delhi: With just one more phase of the Lok Sabha elections left, politicians are going all out to rally support.
There is hectic pace to the efforts of politicians to garner votes for the last phase slated to be held on May 13. Reaching out to the electorate is the prime target of politicians who travel across the country to connect with the people.
The Congress is now into damage control mode in Tamil Nadu. In the fifth and final phase of the elections its do-or-die for the congress in Tamil Nadu -- after having upset its ally the DMK by trying to cosy up to Jayalalithaa. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as well as party general secretary Rahul Gandhi will be travelling to Tamil Nadu to try placate DMK chief Karunanidhi.
Manmohan Singh is reaching Chennai on Saturday to meet Karunanidhi and hold joint rallies with the DMK. Sonia too would be visiting the state later in the week.
- AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi will address rallies in Sivaganga and Tiruchirapalli in Tamil Nadu.
- AIADMK Chief Jayalalithaa will hold rallies in Kanchipuram and Arakkonam.
- Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will be campaigning at Jalandhar in Punjab.
- BJP leader Rajnath Singh will be campaigning at Bellary in Karnataka.
- BSP supremo Mayawati will be rallying for support on home turf Uttar Pradesh, at Rampur.
