New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said that he will not apologise to the Bharatiya Janata Party for accusing Finance Minister Arun Jaitley of being involved in corruption in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).
The Centre and the Delhi government has been at loggerheads over one issue or the other and the Central Bureau of Investigation raids at Delhi Secretariat has snowballed into a political controversy.
"BJP almost begging me for an apology. Sorry. I won't oblige them. Let Jaitley ji be cross-examined in defamation cases. Let truth prevail."

The remarks came after the BJP said that Kejriwal should apologise as the Delhi government's inquiry report in DDCA has no mention of the Finance Minister.
Senior BJP leader MJ Akbar had said, "Delhi CM should apologise to Arun Jaitley for the allegations. Delhi government inquiry report on DDCA has no mention of Arun Jaitley."
Kejriwal added that the Delhi government's inquiry report has not given a clean chit to anyone.
"No clean chit ever given by any Delhi government probe. That report confirmed several instances of wrongdoings but did not fix responsibility. It didn't mention anyone's name and recommended Enquiry Commission to fix responsibility, which we have done now."

The Delhi government inquiry report on the affairs of the DDCA does not even mention Jaitley's name who has been under opposition attack over the alleged irregularities during his tenure as its chief.
The 237-page report by a three-member committee headed by Principal Secretary in Vigilance Department Chetan Sanghi has said that considering the "large number of allegations against DDCA", the cricket body should be immediately suspended by the BCCI.
Without any mention of Jaitley anywhere in the report, the committee made host of observations about alleged irregularities by DDCA which include construction of the corporate boxes without prior approval of the authorities and complaints of forgery in age-verification certificates.
