26. Serchhip is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Mizoram and is part of Mizoram Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Serchhip falls in Serchhip district and North region of Mizoram. It is categorised as a urban seat.
There are a total of 18,012 voters in the seat, which includes 8,542 male voters, and 9,470 female voters. In the 2018 Mizoram elections, Serchhip recorded a voter turnout of 83.61%. In 2013 the turnout was 85.97%, and in 2008 it was 87.5%.
In 2013, Lal Thanhawla of INC won the seat by a margin of 734 votes (5.32%). Lal Thanhawla secured 41.48% of the total votes polled.
INC won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 952 votes (7.96%), registering 39.68% of the total votes polled.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, INC led in the Serchhip Assembly segment of the Mizoram Parliamentary/Lok Sabha constituency.
