The poster also shows Congress President Rahul Gandhi as Lord Krishna and he is asked to protect women from insults.

Lucknow: After reminding Prime Minister Narendra Modi of a certain character from Ramayana, Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury has now transformed into a character from another epic – Mahabharata.

In posters put by a Congress leader from Allahabad, Chowdhury has been depicted as Draupadi while Prime Minister Modi, BJP chief Amit Shah and union minister Kiren Rijiju have been portrayed as Kauravas for mocking her laughter.

In the background is senior BJP leader LK Advani, who has been depicted as the blind king Dhritrashtra. Congress President Rahul Gandhi, on the other hand, is shown as Lord Krishna and ‘Raksham Rahul Gandhi’ has been written on the poster, asking him to protect women from insults.

Pictures of Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari are also included in the poster.

The caption on the poster says, “Ek stree ki hansi Duryodhan ko khal gayi thi, yaad karo sau karavon ki chita jal gayi thi (The laughter of a woman had pricked Duryodhan’s ego, don’t forget that a hundred Kauravas died due to it).”

The controversial poster has been put by Congress member Hasib Ahmed, who also demanded that PM Modi apologize to the women of India.

He alleged that at one hand PM is giving slogan like ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’, but on the other hand he is comparing the laughter of a female MP to a character of the Ramayana.

The Congress MP had laughed loudly in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday after the Prime Minister had claimed that Aadhaar was conceptualised during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government. Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu had caked her out and told her to “go see a doctor” for her “unruly behaviour.”

At this point, Modi interjected and said, “It is our good fortune to listen to such laughter for the first time after Ramayan serial,” amid thunderous applause from BJP MPs, including Amit Shah.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju also mocked her laughter in a Facebook post by sharing a video clip from the TV series "Ramayana", in which Surpanakha, the evil sister of demon king Ravana, cackles loudly. Chowdhury has Rijiju for sharing the post.
