Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, who has continued a tirade against the Narendra Modi government over farmers' issue, is in Punjab to meet the family of a farmer who recently committed suicide.
The Gandhi scion is meeting the family of the farmer who committed suicide in Fatehgarh Sahib district of Punjab a week ago.
The 60-year-old farmer, Surjit Singh, had briefed Rahul on the distress caused to farmers by crop loss due to unseasonal rains when the Congress leader last visited the state back in April.
Police said the farmer was grappling with a massive loan which he was unable to pay due to mounting losses.
