New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be visiting Uttar Pradesh on again on Friday to campaign for the Congress.
This will be the second time when the PM will campaign in the state that went to poll on April 7.
News agency PTI quoted party sources as saying that Manmohan Singh would address election meetings at Lakhimpur Kheri and Bahraich districts.
In his first speech, last week, in an election rally, Singh projected Congress party scion Rahul Gandhi as the new leader, and emphasised that he was the future of the state.
"Rahul Gandhi is your future. He is sweating it out for you. Only one chance is needed to make this state a new Uttar Pradesh," PTI had quoted Singh as saying at the election rally in Afzalgarh.
Meanwhile, the Congress on Tuesday attacked the BJP for its "outrageous and intemperate" attack on the PM for his remarks on Rahul.
"For the BJP to say that the Prime Minister is trying to impose Rahul on the people of UP is ludicrous and reflects an authoritarian mindset. The future leader of UP and India will be, as always, decided by the people", party spokesman Devendra Dwivedi was quited as saying by PTI.
