Not in hurry to declare list of candidates: Goa BJP
In the run-up to the March 3 polls, the party has admitted several outside leaders into its fold.

Panaji: The Bharatiya Janata party on Wednesday said it was not in a hurry to declare the list of candidates for the Goa Assembly polls.

Goa BJP chief, Laxmikant Parsekar, said in Panaji that the party was being cautious, hence the delay in coming out with the list.

"Why should we open our cards? We are not afraid of rebellions, but we are being careful," Parsekar said, talking to reporters.

In the run-up to the March 3 polls, the party has admitted several outside leaders into its fold. As to the alliance with Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), he said talks were still going on.

When asked whether BJP high command's decision not to allow Sripad Naik, an MP, to contest assembly election would affect the party's prospects, Parsekar refused to comment.

Earlier reports had said that Naik would head the party in the assembly polls, but later he was asked to stay in Delhi. A section of leaders in the party has been projecting Manohar Parrikar as candidate for the Chief Minister's post.
