Vadodara: The venue of students meeting to be addressed by Congress general secretary Rrahul Gandhi on Friday had to be changed at last moment after authorities of Maharaja Sayajirao University withdrew the permission to hold meeting in university campus here.
President of city unit of Congress, Suresh Patel told PTI that the university vice chancellor Ramesh Goyal had granted the permission to use a ground in university for the programme.
However, the Congress workers were shocked when they leanrt on Thursday afternoon that varsity has withdrawn its permission, he said.
"We managed to get permission from the authorities concerned for holding the meeting of Gandhi at Ampi Theatre ground at Kamati Garden on Friday," Patel said.
After interacting with the students here, Gandhi will go to L&T circle to launch membership drive of the youth Congress, he said.
